Recycle

I decided to do my speech on recycling so I wanted to do my presentation on my computer to save paper. I would like for you to imagine that you are in the middle of a forest on a trail. You have been walking for hours trying to find a beautiful river that you have heard about in stories before.
All you have with you is a backpack with some snacks in it, so you decide to pull out a can of soda. You quickly slurp it down and are very satisfied. Then carelessly you throw it on the side of the trail. You walk for about ten more minutes then you turn a corner and what do you find? A long hole filled with dead plants and soda cans and empty water bottles. This used to be a beautiful river filled with untouched sky blue water, and now look at what it has become!

This is a picture of a river that people pass by all the time! Don’t let this happen anymore.  Don’t let us have to put up these signs! Did you know that plastic bottles take 700 years to begin composting? So why would you just throw one on the floor when you could have it being recycled in just a few days? The world is becoming polluted and animals are dying and becoming extinct and if the world stays this way then people, too, someday will not be able to survive in the terrible circumstances! But if you don’t want this to happen, don’t worry you can change this fate by the little things you do every day, like signing up for a recycling company, or going on a walk to pick up trash. If you do these simple things you can change the world forever! So let’s go back to our story for a minute.  You are walking back and you see that bottle you threw on the trail.  So what are you going to do? Walk straight by it and let another animal die, or will you pick it up and recycle it, letting another animal survive? I know that I would recycle it, but the choice to truly change the world is in your hands so choose wisely.
